The hackathon will be hosted during the TUM Blockchain Conference, one of Europe’s premier student-led blockchain events, taking place in Munich, September 12-13, 2024. Who Should Participate?
Whether you’re experienced in AI development, blockchain, UI/UX design, or both frontend and backend development, this hackathon offers a platform to showcase your talents. Teams must consist of 2-5 members, and you can choose to participate online or in person. All you need is a solid foundation in blockchain technology, especially with æternity and Sophia, and a desire to create something truly groundbreaking.

What You’ll Build
Your mission is to create a functional prototype that integrates at least one of the key features of æternity’s blockchain—AI chatbots, oracles, or state channels. The solution should be innovative, functional, and applicable to real-world scenarios. Teams are encouraged to think beyond the basics and develop solutions that could revolutionize how we use blockchain technology.
Submission Guidelines
To be considered, each team must submit:
- A functional prototype: A demo showcasing the working application using æternity and Sophia smart contracts.
- Code repository: A GitHub link with clear instructions on deploying the project on the æternity network.
- Video presentation: A maximum 5-minute video explaining the solution, its use case, and how Sophia and æternity are integrated.
- Pitch deck (optional): Summarizing the project, the problem it addresses, and future development plans.
Judging Criteria
The æternity Uni Hack 2024 judges are some of the most knowledgeable and experienced developers from the æcommunity. They will evaluate each project based on its innovation, technical complexity, impact, and clarity of presentation:
- Innovation and Creativity (25%): Does your solution leverage æternity’s unique capabilities in a novel way? Is it an inventive application of AI, oracles, or state channels?
- Technical Complexity (25%): How technically advanced is your solution? Is it well-implemented, secure, and scalable?
- Impact and Feasibility (25%): Does your project solve a significant problem? How practical and impactful is it in real-world applications?
- Presentation and Clarity (25%): How well is the project communicated? Is the demo effective in showcasing the functionality and benefits of the solution?
