Bounty: Ubuntu Multi GPU Miner & Guide

Currently, miners using multiple GPUs need to set up multiple nodes to mine AE. We want to address this inconvenience by announcing the following bounty.

Mining is usually done with multiple GPUs, organized in a rig. Miners use mining software to focus the rig’s combined hashing power on finding the proof-of-work solution. Usually, there is no need for miners to run a full node to do this. They use pools which organize the work of all connected rigs of GPUs and run nodes. We are not looking for pool solutions, each miner should run their own node.

Currently, in æternity for each GPU there needs to be a node associated with it. This means that for a rig of 6 GPUs, the miner will need to set up and run 6 nodes in parallel. In order to address this inconvenience, we are announcing a bounty in AE tokens for a multi GPU miner that runs on Linux.

Rules and Eligibility

  • This contest is open to anyone who has reached the age of maturity in their country of residence.
  • Teams are free to participate, but the award will be sent to a single ETH address.

  • The solution should be optimal from operating system perspective and run directly on hardware (no dockers or virtualizations).
  • The miner should be running his own node. We are not looking for a “pool” solution.
  • The user must create a video or text guide on how to use the miner to start mining AE on the Testnet on a Linux machine. The guide must be presented/written in English and include a detailed explanation of each step required to start mining AE on the Testnet. For a sample guide, please have a look at this.
